Ok, this thing is just awesome. Slips right in my pocket, and brings instant peace of mind. Get one, and you will not be disappointed, I promise. After you get it, you might find it to be a bit tight in its action (I did) but after I opened it and collapsed it a few times, it got looser. Now it flicks open lightning fast and with only the slightest of effort, like some sort of hard steel lightsaber. A truly wonderful little weapon, and I now never leave home without it.
Oh, and if you're not a security guard or law enforcement, I wouldn't recommend using the accompanying holster. If you do, people will keep asking what it is, or saying "why do you carry around that flashlight?". Trust me, it slips just as easily into the pocket of your pants or jacket and adds the extra advantage of concealment and surprise that way. Plus, you don't look like a dork who carries around a collapsible baton in a holster on your belt.

Bought two of these because the price looked so attractive. Both are completely useless after less than a week. They either get stuck open, which forces you to very forcefully close it, which then causes it to get stuck shut, for which the only solution is to take it apart to extend it, which completely defeats the purpose of the weapon in the first place. Super inefficient, not easy to use, no warranty or refund. Don't bother. Spend the extra money and buy a decent one.

Great to take hiking or in the back-country for use against who knows what you'll come across. Good self-defense tool if needed.

WOW! didn't expect it to be so good, the feel and nice and heavy very sturdy. Can definitely do with authority whatever it is intended for. :-)

A bit disappointing.May 06, 2010
Way too hard to open to be reliable for fast deployment. Once open, it requires smashing against asphalt or concrete to close, potentially chipping the concrete and certainly scuffing up and roughing up the end of the baton. The amount of increased reach versus original size of the closed baton in hindsight is not a sufficient incentive to put up with the inconveniences mentioned.
