I bought 8 of these dummy cameras for obvious purposes. The casing and sun visor is aluminum as stated, but lacks the lustre of polished aluminum and instead has the cast of a painted surface.
The ball joint allowing the camera to be aimed is poor at best - it is soft plastic and relies upon dimples for friction. Those dimples are worn away within the first or second adjustment, thus final aiming is not as permanent as desired. In time, I believe a good wind or snow load will move the camera.
The mounting arm allows for vertical mounts ONLY...take note, because if you're thinking of mounting this dummy under a soffit overhang, you will have to do some custom rigging on the camera itself. I did, and it can be done, but if you still wish to use the camera sun shade, you will invest at least 45 minutes per camera switching the camera mounting 180 degrees and cutting a hole in the shade.
Typical of 'you get what you pay for', the screw holes on the back (to get at the batteries), and the battery cover (inside), will strip within the second or third use. Soft metal and plastic. Also, the screws themselves have a Rockwell hardness quotient equivalent to hard butter. Not quality, but not a deal breaker as screws are cheap and retapping holes with a larger self tapping screw is easy.
Would I buy these cameras again? Maybe...verging on probably. The price was certainly right, and they do look genuine when mounted. In all likelihood, most dummy cameras of this price range will have similar quality issues.

These dummy cameras really do look "real". One of my neighbors said they were "scary". Just what I want. The exceptional service comes from the fact that someone with the shipper wrote "take off the back cover to insert batteries" on the packing slip. Otherwise I wouldn't have known and probably wasted time taking off the front cover.

Housing is aluminum, mounting assembly looks substantial, authentic look. Very satisfied, regardless of the cost.
