4Easy does it.Jun 18, 2009
By Laurie L. Mcgee "mckTXaws"
I love this simple little compass. Batteries are included. Ready to run right out of the box. I love the precision and resoulution to the neerest 5 degrees. Not only do you see the directions in compass format. But at the top of the screen the direction characters ar given ex NW. And the bearing points ex 355 degrees. I also love the backlighting. soft blue, not to harsh like leds. The suction cup seems to have a good grip on a smooth surfaces. It dosn't have such a great grip on surfaces like wood. but a window will work.

5Exactly As DescribedNov 14, 2009
By Bill M
I was looking for an auto compass for my 2006 Mustang. Both my other cars had a compass and I missed having one even with a portable GPS. Sometimes the GPS steers you wrong and its just nice to know which way you are going. I searched a number of car compasses, some up to $200. I took a chance at this with its low price. It turned out to be exactly what I needed. Simple, easy to use, easy to calibrate. I took a 4000 mile trip and it was dead on accurate. I calibrated it once the first day and never had to touch it. Now at home I can still see the accuracy. I am delighted with this and it is exactly as descrbied.

5'Type S Digital Suction-Cup' -- Best Compass I've Ever Owned!!Jan 09, 2010
By Carmella L. Williams
This electronic digital compass by Type S is the best one I've ever had!!! I've tried several, both the 'floating ball' type & a couple of digital ones, and this is the only one that has ever truly worked accurately! I decided to try it & now am so glad that I did! I figured that if it didn't work, I would be out of the $, but definitely would not buy another external compass again. To my surprise, it works very, very well:) Not only is it dead-on in giving direction, it is small & lightweight & installs by suction-cup. All of which makes it superior to the larger compasses, in my opinion. I have it mounted over to the left side of my car windshield & it never falls off at all! I prefer this type of installment to the self-adhesive kind as the tape is difficult to take off, leaves residue, & is almost impossible to re-mount in a different position or different vehicle -- it just does not re-stick well!! Plus, the larger ones are bulky & obstruct your driving view. They also, at least as far as digitals are concerned, look cheap & tacky sitting on the dashboard of a car -- in my view. Just the fact that it is so accurate is of the most importance to me, but the other features are an added plus. Oh, and the simple calibration is great, too, because it is so easy & doesn't consume much time at all! So for the low price, you cannot go wrong with this one!!!

1Doesn't workFeb 08, 2010
By Robert Knight
I've tried this in a couple of locations in my wifes Subaru outback. Can't get it to calibrate. Actually can't get it to work. Doesn't look to bad, but basically I think it's probably junk. I could probably send it back, but with cheap products like this it isn't worth it--better to warn off the next victim.

1won't calibrateMar 27, 2010
By William Neuser "gargoyle1969"
I have the same problem with it not calibrating. Push the reset button, drive in a full circle and its supposed to stop flashing and be calibrated. Went out on two separate occasions to different parking lots, etc. -- and the calibration never set. Had to pull out the batteries to get it to stop flashings. Also, the suction cup doesn't work on grained dashboards. Had to use duct tape -- but it wouldn't calibrate.
