At the core, the various strands of environmental criminology are bound by a common focus on the role that the immediate environment plays in the performance of crime, and a conviction that careful analyses of these environmental influences are the key to the effective investigation, control and prevention of crime. Environmental Crime and Crime Analysis brings together for the first time the key contributions to environmental criminology to comprehensively define the field and synthesize the concepts and ideas surrounding environmental criminology. The chapters are written by leading theorists and practitioners in the field. Each chapter will analyze one of the twelve major elements of environmental criminology and crime analysis. This book will be essential reading for both practitioners and undergraduate and postgraduate students taking courses in this subject. | | | Product Details: | | | Paperback:

Brilliant!Jun 18, 2011
By aaron This is by far the best criminological theory book to date on environmental theories and criminal analysis. The editors did a superb job at gathering the perfect authors for each section respectively. Great book for general knowledge in the field or for a theory class supplement at the post-graduate level. Also, seller was great, highly recommend.
Environmental Criminology and Crime AnalysisMay 27, 2011
By Maurice A. Robinson I read this book as part of a promotional study list. Later that year I started working on my Master of Science in Criminal Justice. This book was helpful for the promotion exam and in writing a couple of papers during my program.

All the best names in the businessMay 30, 2009
By Charles Watson This is a collection of the best names in the business. Everyone I read about in my graduate classes is in here, and it is all pretty readable, considering they are all the big names. Some chapters are a bit quirky, but on the whole this is essential reading for environmental criminologists and anyone who really wants to understand crime and what to do about it.
