Description:

The Kappa 52.9i 5-1/4"" speakers feature light, but stiff woven glass-fiber woofer cones that won't flex or distort. The Plus One design offers a larger surface area for improved low-frequency output and efficiency, while longer voice coils produce tighter, snappier bass. Large magnets keep the woofers running cooler by placing more steel close to the voice coils to act as a heat sink.

Infinity uses the same Metal Matrix Diaphragm tweeter found in many of their popular home speakers, so you'll hear the music the way it was recorded with minimal coloration or distortion. The dome tweeters pivot, allowing you to adjust them for better stereo imaging.

The computer-optimized outboard crossover networks employ audiophile-grade components to separate highs and lows, so that the woofer and tweeter work together perfectly. Pre-wired crossovers eliminate a time-consuming step in your installation, and terminals at the end of the crossover wires screw directly to the speakers, leaving no chance for incorrect wiring.

5Living Up To The Infinity NameOct 29, 2011
By Ian J. Hanson ""ThePioneer""
I already had Infinity Reference 6x9's in the back of my Buick Regal and installed an Infinity Basslink in the trunk. I have a CDA-117 sending out very clean and detailed signals to the speakers, amplified to 45W RMS using the KTP 445 power pack.

I installed these to replace the stock component system (midwoofer + tweeter) which I had been somewhat satisfied with, although it clearly had its deficiencies. The highs were irritating in some songs and the speakers struggled at high volumes, unable to keep pace with the aftermarket infinity's in back. I had to EQ the highs down between 4-6dB and boost the lows up the equivalent amount.

After installing these today, the sound is MUCH more full in the car - bass is improved noticeably (used weatherstripping foam to create a good seal), and the irritating highs are completely gone. I am sooo happy to be able to leave my EQ at flat and get detailed, full sound. Very satisfied. These can also handle volume SO MUCH better - I used to always stop at 18-20 for volume and now I can push it up to 22 with no trouble.

I took lots of video footage with sound comparisons and will put them up on Youtube when I have some spare time: profile name is pioneer7777777.

If you're looking for some budget coax's, go with these. I've got an all Infinity setup and think they all work together well to create a nice sound. Infinity Reference, Kappa and Basslink. I like it all.

Also, notice how few speakers have all five star reviews. across the board. These are one set of those five-star speakers

5Great speakers for the cost!Mar 04, 2012

I have the Kappa 4x6's in the dash and 5.25's in the sound bar of my jeep wrangler. In my opinion, they sound great! Both are small speakers, so don't expect a lot of bass (I have a 10" sub and 800w amp in the back for that) but the mids and highs they produce are very clear even at almost max volume- which they're played at anytime I have the top and doors off. My head unit isn't pushing nearly as much power as they can handle (inexpensive unit- hey, it's in a wrangler, chances are it's going to get rained on, stolen, or covered in mud sooner or later) so I'm thinking at some point about hooking a small amp up to these speakers and maybe then I'll be able to hear my music while I'm driving down the highway with the top off
Great buy for the price.

5This speaker makes sony and stock speakers look embarassing.Feb 01, 2012

I purchased the infinity 529i to go along with my Pioneer 4300, after noticing my stock speakers were blown. Boy! does it make a difference the sound is rich and crisp, although it lacks bass. The bass is crisp and clear but not the type that can make your car shake. These speakers aren't meant for that, I've received many compliments from people, also I've had people ask me what brand were they. The speakers are generally loud, crisp and clear. Highly recommendable.

5Excellent sound from for a small speaker.Jan 11, 2012

Better than the same size Boston Acoustics I also purchased when I upgraded my car stereo system. Good bass from these speakers. Easy to adjust the attenuation on the tweeter which is done directly on the tweeter itself rather than on the crossover that came with the speaker.
