Tire snow chain tightenersApr 17, 2010
By Pharmer Norm

I purchased these tighteners to go along with my security tire chains. They are very necessary to insure a snug fit of your chains to the tires. I found them to be somewhat difficult to install the first time due to the fact that you must stretch the rubber to get the clips to reach the chains. The tension of the rubber ring is what tightens the chains. I hope that it will be easier next time. I recommend working clips at opposite ends of the ring as opposed to going around the ring in a circular fashion. When you go around, the last couple of hooks will be very tight and hard to attach. It should be easier if you clip one hook at 12 oclock and then the next at about 6 oclock, then work the sides from there.

Chain tighteners with installation tipDec 04, 2010
By E. Richards Great chain tighteners. Installation tip: Hook at 4:OO and 8:00 first, then pull up and hook at 12:00 using the strength of your legs and back. Then pull up and hook at 2:00 and 10:00 using the same method. Much easier that way!

Very tight for 33x12.5xR15 Goodyear MT/RsDec 27, 2010
By Irvin Kanode The QG3229CAM chains were a good fit with the 33x12.5xR15 Goodyear MT/Rs on my Jeep Wrangler.
However, these QG20074 Quik Grip Light Truck Traction Chain Rubber Tightener are a very tight fit. The technique suggested here for starting at 8 and 4 o'clock helped as did warming up the rubber so it was above freezing. That allowed me to get a reasonable approximation of a pentagon.
easy to useMar 11, 2012
By William Hopp Although I have not tried them in real weather conditions I practiced in the garage and after installing the cable chains tried the tighteners and they were easy to get on and off. I'm confident that in real weather they would work well.
QG20074 Quick Grip Light Truck Chain TightenerJan 29, 2012

They arrived promptly. I have an extra set of Turf Tires with chains for my Kubota BX2200 Tractor. The size is 20 X 12.00-12. I leave them on the extra set of tires all year and just change wheels when I have somthing big to move that requires more traction. They fit perfectly. The reason I bought them was to replace a set that had worn out after 10 years on my tractor. I've used them when I use my Snowblower, front blade, front end loader, and to pull other equipment out, I get stuck around the farm, both in the summer and in the winter. They turn my Kubota into a little bulldozer. I've cleared fence rows, moved crushed blacktop, dug holes in solid ground, and many other things. And thanks to these chains I've been able to handle it all.
