Functional Skylink RemoteNov 29, 2009
By GABE I purchased this with my Skylink System about 7 months ago and it has worked without any problem so far. It is handy that you can arm, disarm and activate panic alarm with a push of the button. Although, I would recommend that you do not disarm the system until you have entered the house. That way if you hear the 15 second count down you know that no one is in your house (most likely).

Misleading.May 18, 2010
By Brad L. Senatore This little unit is great, if it's used and purchased for what it was "intended". It works in conjuncture with the Skylink SC-10* security system lines, and can turn the system on and off from a distance, without needing to actually be at the security panel. It's a good idea to have at least a second one of these laying around to turn on the system or turn it off if something makes it freak out (as everybody says, it is mind numbingly loud). HOWEVER, I wrote this review specifically to point out that the Amazon technical description is wrong, and misleading. This absolutely does NOT open any garage doors. It doesn't work with the skylink garage door set. There is supposed to be the "Skylink Garage One" unit being developed, that will connect with the SC-10* systems, and then this unit should be able to open a garage door, but currently as it is, it absolutely cannot open your garage door. Don't buy it for that "feature"!

Nice remote but a little upside down!Feb 11, 2009
By Shawn Brown I got this remote with BOTH of my Skylink alarms and really like the size. But I find that the buttons are sort of upside down compared to most remotes for like car alarms and stuff. Usually the top left arms, top right disarms, but this one is backwards. I also which one of the wasted button would work for my garage door opener but it doesn't. Pretty good distance for this remote. Don't like the white (prefer black).

Good battery life & at least 25ft communication rangeSep 07, 2009
By Simple Guy Purchased in October 2008 as part of Skylink SC-1000 Complete Wireless Alarm System.
Works well, haven't had to change battery yet. Has a communication range of around 25ft, with only a few obstacles in between.
Your mileage may vary depending on the environment in which you use it. (i.e. My walls are wooden)

Very convenientDec 22, 2009
By Kim I can't say enough for how convenient these key fobs are.
The control pad is clunky, and on the off chance that a burglar might be familiar with the Skylink security system, I wanted to place it in an out of the way location. On the other hand, trying to get behind a couch to deactivate the system in under 15 seconds was not appealing. The remote was the perfect solution. Each person in the household has one, and we only need to get back to the control panel when settings or batteries need to be changed.
