Description:

WILDFIRE 18% PEPPER SPRAY is hot, hot, hot. Wildfire is 18% Oleo Resin Capsicum (pepper) -- a derivative of 3 Million Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Wildfire 18% pepper spray comes in 5 sizes: 1/2 ounce (available in red, blue and black), 1.5 ounce, 4 ounce, 9 ounce and 1 pound. 1/2 ounce and 1.5 oz units come with an injection molded poly holster, belt clip and keychain. "The Wildfire 18% formula is one of the hottest, and more importantly, the fastest reacting spray we've ever tested. This spray immediately permeates the pores of the skin, closes the eyes, and inhibits the respiratory system. What makes this product so effective is the purity of the pepper used in formulating this product...only food grade grade 3 million or 4 million scoville heat units pepper used." Larry Harris, Washington Labs

2Hot but UselessNov 24, 2011

Look, here's the truth. This stuff is hot. yes, 18%. It also "paints" red on the attacker making them easier to identify. But, I got the fog instead of the stream. The fog does not go far, I mean, probably 4 feet. Its like spray paint. I dont want to spray paint a dog, I want it down! Down! DOWN! And I should expect 8-10 feet minimum good distance for a pepper spray. I wasted 50 bucks on three cans of this crap. I emailed the company and no response. My advice, get the stream and not the fog. I go with Fox 5.3 now (not affiliated). Its hotter, more money, and effective (again, experience using it). Maybe your mileage is better with this, but I can't recommend this product...

5This is stuff is evil.Oct 30, 2011

This spray is ridiculous. It is the exact embodiment of Hell, pressurized into a can. In reality, this is an experimental substance created deep in the 9th circle of Hell. It was deemed too evil and cruel to use as an eternal torture device, so Lucifer cast it out of Hell and into the realm of the living.

In all seriousness though, this stuff is incredible. I got this for my girlfriend. While I was teaching her to properly use it, the wind caught it a bit and a slight mist went straight into my face. I was out. It hit me instantly, and it hit me HARD. I couldn't breathe, I could not open my eyes what so ever, and it just overall hurt. I have been sprayed directly in the eyes with other products (Mace) before, but that was no comparison. Even this slight mist that breezed into my face put me down. I was flushing my face non stop with water for about 15-20 minutes afterwards and I could just barely open my eyes. Now just imagine what it would have felt like to be sprayed directly with it.

The only bad thing, is that it is so strong, that you yourself may be incapacitated in the process. Just spraying it, even with the wind, you can smell it and it makes you gag. So just make sure you at least cover your mouth and nose when you spray it.

1Something wrong with this company's claimNov 21, 2011
By E. Smith
So Wildfire claims they are using a 3-4 million Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) OC in an 18% concentration. Self defense pepper sprays come in a range of .18% - 1.33% Major Capsaicinoids (MC). The maximum allowed for use on BEARS is 2% MC. At 3 million SHU and 18% concentration we are talking about over 3% MC. That makes this spray illegal for use on BEARS let alone humans. Anything above 1% is generally considered for bear use and not proven safe for use on humans. Even if we lower the OC heat down to 2 million SHU we are still talking about a product illegal for use on bears. So either the company is making a false claim or this product is illegal to use on a bear.

5AwesomeNov 16, 2010

I have been carrying pepper spray with me whenever I walk my dog, and I had an occasion to use a different product on a huge cat that stalks me and my dog every time I pass it's house. This one time, it went into attack mode, hissed at us and was about to attack when I used a weaker, 1 ounce spray, and while it worked in getting the cat to go back home, I had to use the whole can.

I decided I needed a more potent and larger can. I received this product quickly took it on my next dog walk. I test-sprayed it to make sure I knew what I was doing, and when I pushed the spray button, a huge, red stream came out about 20 feet. I feel much safer with this product, and quite honestly, was disappointed the cat didn't not threaten me and my dog again...but I know I am protected..Thanks for the great product!
